Licences
Like most modern software, this product is built on the work of a great many open-source projects. This page acknowledges them.
Our own software
Our apps, this website and the software that runs our service are ours, and are not open source. What follows is about the third-party components inside them.
Open-source components
Our website, our servers, our apps and the protocols they speak all include open-source components, used under their own licences — most commonly the MIT, Apache 2.0 and BSD licences, and in some cases others. We are grateful to the people who wrote and maintain them.
Among the larger projects we build on are the Svelte and Go ecosystems on the website and the server, the Rust cryptography libraries in our protocol core, the Android and Kotlin libraries in our mobile app, and several widely used VPN protocol implementations.
Attribution
Some components ask to be credited by name, and we are glad to do it. The country flag artwork is from lipis/flag-icons. The flag emoji in our web font come from Twemoji, by Twitter, Inc. and other contributors. The interface is set in Inter, with Vazirmatn for Persian and Arabic text.
